COOKSON 12

Custom Railings

Prior to the 75th Melbourne to Hobart Race we were contracted to improve the manoeuvrability within the cockpit for offshore racing on Salient, a Cookson 12. We designed and built aluminium rails to go in front of the twin wheels to give the skipper and crew something to hold onto while traversing through the cockpit.

We took precise measurements of the current cockpit and worked with the skipper on a low impact design that would give the crew something to hold onto, while not being in the way of sheets and crew.

Custom Heavy Duty Rope Bags

Along with the custom railings, we designed and fabricated some heavy duty rope bags that would double as another hand hold for crew. These Bags were manufactured out of aluminium with 6 separate fixtures for for added strength. The bags themselves were manufactured by the help of 42° South Marine.
